Ponchatoula Louisiana is one of our
favorite places. In Decenber 2006 we finally moved here from
Metairie. There are many nice places to dine such as Pauls
Cafe on 100 East Pine, also the Berrytown
Gourmet Market is a great place to get fresh produce.
Berrypatch Cafe has great Pannini sandwiches alon
with the best stuffed Bignets you'll ever taste. Catfish
Charlie in Hammond is a great seafood place on a small man
made lake. The kids can feed the ducks and turtles on the deck while
you eat. Take exit 28 from I55 and follow the signs. The next
Ponchatoula Strawberry Festival is April 11-13,
2008. Click Here for more
information.

The Cabin
Restaurant : A great
restaurant with great atmosphere and really good food. We love the
peaceful drive from New Orleans. It's less than an hour drive
from New Orleans and located at the intersection of La Hwy
22 & La Hwy 44 in Burnside Louisiana. If your looking
for a short getaway from the New Orleans area to eat and explore
some Louisiana history this is the place for you. Finish off
the afternoon with a tour of Houmas House
Plantation just five minutes away and by far one of
the nicest plantations around. Or a little ways down River Road is
San Francisco Plantation. It's not as nice
as Houmas House but it's worth seeing.
The Grapevine Market &
Cafe in Donaldsonville. A unique blend of Cajun,
Creole and African traditions—is only one element of the experience
that awaits you in downtown Donaldsonville: The Grapevine has great
art, great music, great food and great friends. (This one is on our
list to try)
The DinnerBell in McComb Mississippi has become our 2008 favorite
place to eat. They are only open from 10 til 2pm.
